My goal is to build a native plant and seed business that’s focused on plants that are native to the Ozarks specifically and that are resilient to the droughts and downpours that we’re seeing more often. My plan is to do this step by step: The first would be to rent less than an acre for a high tunnel and some beds to begin growing seedlings and larger plants for sale to conservation groups and at a farmers market. A couple years down the road, my goal is to have approx. 5-10 acres for cultivating grasses, forbs, shrubs and trees, including indigenous food crops like persimmon, hazelnut and wild onion.
